Here are some wonderful shots of what the paint looks like coming off the walls.
The white is what was painted on all the cabinets. The blue is what we painted on the walls. Lots of it has come off like this - in sheets.
I had Emily pose in her most solemn look to demonstrate what the mood is like when I have to tear down all the hard work that was put in this past weekend.
But, that doesn't last long. We still have to smile. This will be one for the memory books.
Here is Kathryn removing the first layer of wallpaper to reveal the other vintage layer. Notice how the bright yellow matches the bright yellow tile. Someday I will be able to get the counters of my dreams and finally put the old one to rest!
At least my roses are blooming beautifully!

oh you poor thing. It sure will go in the memory books. Your children will say in years to come, remember when mom and her friends painted the kitchen and I am sure you will all laugh.
The flowers are beautiful.
Oh my goodness!!! You weren't kidding!!! Truly lovely roses! Cathy
Oh WOW!! That's no April Fools joke! How disappointing. I'll be praying that extra patience gets sent your way as you continue on in your paint endeavor!
Lisa, Home Depot did my cabinets and counter top for a real good price. I found out the fancier one wants to get the pricier it is. I have a small kitchen too so that helped. Talk to you later about such things.
awww man, not fun!! But.. great pics of your daughter:)
Oh, I'm sorry! At least you have your friends and family to help you struggle through it - and I'm guessing you don't have a Holy Communion coming up where you have to host a big party. When it's finally done right you'll be all the more proud of the blood sweat and tears you put into this! Happy Easter!
